Soil Carbon with Reef Credits

Last month Verterra’s Rehabilitation and Land Management Sector Lead, Dave Waterson, presented at AgriProve’s Grazing for Soil Carbon field day, held at Gunthorpe Cattle Company’s Tarramba property near Banana QLD.

Dave spoke to landholders about opportunities to be involved in Reef Credits under the recently approved Grazing Land Management (GLM) Method, and how landholders can generate an alternative income stream by reducing fine sediment export through improved grazing land management practices.

By registering a Soil Carbon and Reef Credit Project together, landholders can generate carbon credits and reef credits while improving productivity and protecting the Great Barrier Reef. Using Verterra’s DROVER Mapping, landholders can also make more informed management decisions while quantifying the environmental benefits required to participate in the Reef Credit Scheme.

Speak to Verterra today to discuss opportunities to build resilience and sustainability into your agricultural operations, improve pasture/grazing practices on your property, or to find out about Reef Credits or soil carbon. Verterra is keen to hear from you. Please contact Dave Waterson, Land Remediation Specialist or Andrew Yates, Land Resource and Carbon Specialist on 07 3221 1102.
